The new SmartEVO mixture uses a blend of three different polymers, each of which contributes its specific property and at the same time guarantees a perfect balance of the actually opposing properties: the goal for every rubber technician. To complete this project, Pirelli used its extraordinary experience, which it has gained in over 100 years of motorsport, and the huge know-how from cycling. Our in-depth knowledge and chemical expertise have enabled the materials engineers and chemists at Pirelli to use this ternary polymer blend in such an advanced way that the "intelligent" behavior is guaranteed, which is characteristic of the outstanding properties of the SmartEVO compound. Perfect grip, whether wet or dry, paired with low rolling resistance.
